Stan Manoukian’s watercolours in progress

  • by

Stan Manoukian’s one of our favourite new artists here at Stranger Factory, and we’ll be bringing you a one-two punch of Manoukian’s wondrous monsters in the next few months. Not only will he be presenting his work at our Lost Worlds group show in August, releasing a Stranger Factory colourway of his Kondo figure, but his monsters will also be travelling to Japan for Monsters and Misfits III! So much Stan, so little time!

For now, take a peek at some of the watercolours in progress that Stan is whipping up for the Lost Worlds show. No matter whether you like them blobby or scaley or spikey or horned, Stan has a monster for you!

DrilOne at SDCC!

  • by

While Circus Posterus will be taking over the Cardboard Spaceship booth on Saturday, that doesn’t mean that our artists aren’t roaming far and wide and representing elsewhere! DrilOne is camping out with our friends at Dragatomi this year, and will be exhibiting a wonderful assortment of rusty, battered customs at Booth 5350(Dragatomi).

Below, a gorgeous custom of Doktor A’s Bella figure. DrilOne’s weathering effects blend perfectly with Dok’s steampunk style.

DrilOne is also collaborating with me! Below are his delightfully distressed Fattybugs and Larms.

A tiny peek into James Groman’s studio

We love getting to peek inside artist studios, so we were pretty stoked to see some of James Groman’s studio shots! James is part of our giant awesome monster show in August(or awesome giant monster show, whichever you prefer), and is a terrific monster sculptor, and from the looks of his studio, a pretty nerdy dude(the way we like it).

These shots show off his incredible painting skills on that gigantic monster skull, and we will be dropping a few better pictures of the other paintings hiding in the background real soon!

Lost Worlds opens August 2nd at Stranger Factory featuring the incredible monsters of Paul Kaiju, James Groman, Josh Herbolsheimer, Stan Manoukian, Joe Merril, Goccodo, and Mutant Vinyl Hardcore.

Thank you all for supporting Brandt Peters’ Sketchbook: Muse No. 1 Kickstarter

photo

Hello everyone!

For my first Kickstarter, this project has really been an amazing experience. I had no idea it would take the course it did and would be so successful. I seriously can not thank everyone enough.!I am forever humbled by this process and your generosity. You not only have helped me produce an even better MUSE sketchbook than I could imagine at first, but you have helped pave the road for the whole series. There is so much excitement swirling around this project from fans and collectors to future MUSE artists.

The MUSE journey continues…

I am now focused on the layout and design and should be sending the sketchbook files to the printer in the coming weeks. Incentive production has begun… In fact, for those that have pledged to receive custom Skelve resin figures in a color of their choice – I will be contacting you shortly for your color selection.

I will be posting more regularly on updates (now that the pledge process has concluded) as I am finishing and wrapping up the design. I will be posting images of the MUSE 1 sketchbook as it wraps. I will also be snapping photos of finished incentive production for you!

Thank you, thank you, thank you!!!

More news soon!

All the best,

Brandt / Circus Posterus Studios / Stranger Factory Gallery

Carousel of Crumbeaters for SDCC… by @chrisryniak

Oh, how nerdy Chris Ryniak can get when he has time to play. We never would have guessed it.

Anyway, to show off his herd of Crumbeaters for SDCC, Chris made this nice video with them swirling around until they barf up all their toast crumbs. Notice how each of these guys is different from his sibling! Priced at $200 each, these guys won’t last long.

The Crumbeaters  will be up for grabs and feedings from 12 noon to close every day on Thursday – Sunday during Comic-Con (not available during Wednesday’s “Preview Night”) at the Cardboard Spaceship booth #5346. Chris will be signing and sketching when Circus Posterus invades Comic Con at Cardboard Spaceship’s booth on Saturday, July 20th.
