Coming Soon to Tomenosuke: Brandt Peters x FERG Trouble Boy No.7 [Drifter]

  • by

In anticipation of the forthcoming release of the next Trouble Boy Squadt, FERG has revealed a slick new teaser of the only Squadt whose origins lie in the land of the rising sun: the Yakuza-inspired No. 7 [Drifter]. It’s also been confirmed that this installment of the barnburner collab between FERG and Brandt Peters is an exclusive to Tomenosuke-syoten.

Release info will be announced as soon as FERG nails down a date with Shinji … keep it locked!

Chris Ryniak’s New ‘Stinky Ginger’ Sculpt

First came Brandt’s Stingy Jack figure (here), followed by Kathie’s Jackalope (front and centre here). And now, brand spankin’ new from Chris Ryniak is Stinky Ginger — the latest addition to Circus Posterus’  new line of sofubi vinyl figures. Look familiar? Indeed, this is the same nasty lookin’ fella that’s featured in Chris’ screen print from the Japan fundraiser sale. The master sculpt was literally just completed, so it’ll be some time before we see a release. Updates to come!

Mandi had a Little Lamb …

  • by

With Monsters & Misfits II packed up and shipped, Amanda Louise Spayd has the old Vesta working overtime as she queues up production for Forgotten Finery, her solo show at Rivet Gallery Saturday. A rather flocculent little lamb is the newest critter to be revealed and while my penchant for wittle toofs is no secret, the shadows around the eyes really do it for me with his piece. Not to mention the thrill (and hilarity) of seeing her monsters turn into animals; pastel-colored bees are also promised at the exhibit, along with the odd overly-ruffled ballerina. That oughta be good.

Forgotten Finery opens April 7th and is on display until the 30th. Amanda will be there so pop by and say hi if you find yourself in Columbus!

8″ Honey Elizabeth from Kathie Olivas for Pre-Japan Sale

  • by

In among the recent batch of Monsters & Misfits teaser pics from CP’s Instagram was a lone picture of a Honey Elizabeth hangin’ out with some insectuals. Well, I have some good news about this little lady: she’s a new edition and will be offered to fans on this side of the globe as part of the pre-Japan sale slated for next week. Run size is 30 pieces and pricing is TBA, but if it’s in line with last summer’s Plasma release, expect her to be around $100. Sweet.

New WIP of Young Gohst from FERG x Grody Shogun

  • by

FERG’s Young Gohst project seems to be well on its way with this recent screenshot dropped via his Instagram account. A quick refresher for those who missed the initial news: Young Gohst is FERG’s new sofubi vinyl project in conjunction with Grody Shogun (Luke Rook of Lulubell). Sculpted by master of anatomical artistry Scott Wilkowski, the 3-inch soft vinyl figures feature a removable brain/spinal column with a tongue that sticks out of Young Gohst’s mouth. Insanely cool, I know, especially given the scale. Not quite sure about color schemes yet, but here’s hoping for a rainbow of transparencies to show off this guy’s assets.

Official release info is forthcoming, but word on the CAD forums is that they’ll be released via a sort of subscription deal. More info will be posted as it emerges!
