Gracing the CP booths (#500) will be the sketches for his “Countdown to Halloween” posts on instagram. That is correct, the mummy, witches, ghouls, goblins, and devils will be coming to Designer Con for what I am told will be a very wallet friendly price. Get ready because these will go pretty fast since everyone loves Halloween.

Stingy Jack Sofubi Colorway #2 to Debut @ DCon 2012!

Following the insane success of Brandt Peters’s first sofubi Stingy Jack in August, the pumpkin-headed trickster is back for another spin with the Circus. Hot out of the molds from Obitsu, the second colorway just wrapped up and is slated to debut at DesignerCon 2012!

Inspired by Brandt’s “Toxic Marshmallow” resin custom from Monsters & Misfits II, this next colorway from Tomenosuke + Circus Posterus packs a heck of palette that’s guaranteed to stand-out from the rest of the collection. Just check out the fade on his noggin!

The Toxic Marshmallow colorway is an edition of 120 pieces. Roughly half of the run will be available at the CP booths (#500) during DCon and the rest will then be split between Tomenosuke -syoten and Stranger Factory. These will be sold shortly after the Con (date TBA). Price is $95 per figure. CP board members, stay tuned for a lottery announcement on the forums.

Hang on to your hats, my friends — things are about to get crazy!

Chris Ryniak has been showing us some watercolors for over a month now, and we finally know what he has intended for them, Designer Con! These watercolors are full of color, will be crazy affordable for an original, they are plentiful, and they are the Ryniak Monsters we all know and love. Basically, it is a win win all around.

I will stop with the words and show you plenty images now (click more to see several others, but there will be even more at the con not pictured here)

Doktor A just announced late last week that he will be coming over to this side of the pond once again for Designer Con. We are beyond stoked to see the good Doktor again gracing us with his presence. He just let us know that he will be releasing the first 100 of the new badge, Edward Geers “Shiny Penny” edition. This highly polished copper and red enamel badge will run you $10 each and there are only 150 total.

Destination DesignerCon: Scott Wilkowski’s MouseMask Murphy

  • by

The Great Pumpkin or Scott Wilkowski showed us today that MouseMask Murphy will be coming to Designer Con for “…of All Ages Part II”. Not too much news as of yet, but we all know these will be in high high demand and low quantity. Personally, these slay the original design.

The fun happens Nov 3.

Destination Designer Con: CJ Metzger and Miss Mindy

Remember THIS show from February that had Miss Minday and CJ Metzger gracing Stanger Factory? Well, you will get to see these lovable sisters in Pasadena at Designer Con this year.

They joining Leanna Lin’s Wonderland booth, and CJ will be signing her special edition mini book  “Tiny Muses”. You better get there when you can because there will only be 25 and all come with a special print. Miss Mindy has a secret release you will just have to wait for.

Destination Designer Con: Nonesuch Garden

I love the news coming in for Designer Con! Now I have a deluge of info for what Nonesuch Garden has coming to the Pasadena Convention Center, and you can file this under adorable!

Nonesuch Garden is the creations of Megan Baehr, who works some plush magic alongside painting as well. She will making her first trip to Designer Con, so everyone should stop by and say hello while picking up some sweet goods.

Ok enough banter, and let us take a look at what she has coming to Dcon!

Above we have The Berry Sproutlings
The Berry Sproutlings will be available for for an adoption fee of $415 each. You will also receive a copy of the Sproutling Care Guide, a Certificate of Authenticity, and a cute box to carry your Sproutling home in! Hooray!

The Sproutlings are created using air dry clay and a dry felting technique called needle felting. Needle felting is achieved by poking wool roving with a barbed needle over and over again until the desired shape forms. This method of felting is extremely time consuming, but the seamless results are well worth it! Sproutlings have a wire armature inside them that allows for gentle posing. No molds or patterns of any kind are used to make these one of a kind art dolls.

Also Sproutling brooches for $50 each, 1.5 inches high, made with the same materials as the full dolls. The grumpy faces are the best IMO!

Nonesuch Dolls

A collection of 24 different Nonesuch Dolls will be available. Adoption fees range from $75 to $175. I will also be taking pre-orders for designs I don’t have with me and accepting a limited number of custom orders from Designer Con attendees only for my November/December queue. All orders placed at the con will receive free shipping!

The Nonesuch Dolls were specifically designed to be customizable. I wanted the possibilities to be endless while maintaining a unique style and point of view. Each doll is hand sewn from my own, original patterns. They are made out of wool felt, embroidery floss, and polyester fiber fill. I sometimes use acrylic paint for details. They are typically 4.75 inches (12cm) tall and have string jointed arms and legs which allows them to hold simple poses.

Megan will also have the Tiny Monsters original watercolor paintings on hand.

Destination Designer Con: The Loyal Subjects

  • by

Here is a new treat. It seems at Designer Con, The Loyal Subjects will continue with their love of Joe Ledbetter with the release of the newer design of Lava Bunny! It seems this is the new Chaos Bunny line? Well this 10in tall hippityhop will be a huge, but lets not hope on our ol’ wallets! It is limited to only 99 and that isn’t a lot for JLED.

The fun happens Nov 3.
