Vanessa Ramirez: Reclusively Yours is a reflection on isolation and the passage of time in the life of solitary monsters. Whether talking to an invisible friend, learning new skills, or indulging in activities like no one is watching (because no one is). These monster find the good and bad in time spent alone.
Our Annual “Toymakers of Planet Earth” Group Exhibition is now open. Our fourth installment of this annual exhibition represents the work of over two dozen contemporary toy makers from around the globe. This exhibition of narrative artists displays a wide range of both traditional craft mediums and the current advancing technologies of new digital sculpting media.

Kathie Olivas: For almost three decades, her work has explored society’s insatiable desire to assign ‘cuteness’ and our discomfort with the unknown. A dark blend of early American portraiture set in post apocalyptic times, her paintings and sculptures are a satirical look at how fear affects our sense of reality. Her wide eyed children and anthropomorphic creatures are meant to evoke a nostalgic reaction that reflects isolation and uncertainty, yet they also act as empowered alter egos. While these characters explore their new lonely worlds, they double as our narrators capable of developing their own defense mechanisms. They guide us through their reality as they experience it and yet, even in their company, we are granted no reassurance.
Her current series “Caffeine and Insomnia” is inspired by a year filled with grief and resilience and are meant to be read as a pictorial oracle of divination.
