So awesome!

Today, I bring you one more double portioned appetizer of goodness before the main course at Brandt Peters’ upcoming solo exhibition: Posthumous Menagerie. Brandt is hard at work at making some incredible Skelve masks for the show, and these are seriously doing our head in with their awesomeness. We will have to wait until the preview to see the exact work on the image above, but for now, we can all adore the meticulous details on the eye below!

Get ready for some old time calamity because we are starting the new year off right! To get things going, we are stepping back a few years and straight out of the glory days of cartoons with the “Old Timey” Stingy Jack, Colorway #3! Dressed in cool greys and black, this Stingy will be making his first appearance at Brandt Peters’s upcoming solo exhibition: Posthumous Menagerie at Stranger Factory on January 4th, 2013. We expect these to be arriving and for sale in late January but for the  show opening, there will be a presale for those in attendance with online sales in the Circus Posterus store and Tomenosuke coming later in the month.

With Posthumous Menagerie a mere month away, we’re starting to see the delightfully creepy crawlers emerge from the Brandt Peters imaginarium. Curvy kitty ladies, cactus bone daddies … it’s all here, folks, and this is just the beginning! I’m curious to see these characters’s final forms: will they remain skulking about  BP’s sketchbook, or evolve into something more? A painting, a sculpt? Only time will tell!

Posthumous Menagerie opens Jan. 4th at Stranger Factory with a reception from 6pm to 9pm. For up-to-the-minute coverage, be sure to follow Brandt on Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Tumblr … he’s seemingly omnipresent these days. The more the better, I say!

Following the internet-crippling success of his TRIGGER exhibition with FERG last January, Brandt Peters returns with Posthumous Menagerie, a mini solo exhibition taking place in Stranger Factory’s Small Projects Room. In addition to a whole whack of new paintings, drawings and sculptures, the event will also mark the release of the third production colorway of Brandt’s Stingy Jack sofubi. A tribute to classic cartoons of the silver screen era, the monochrome, Old Timey  edition is limited to only 120 pieces. More details on that to come as we inch closer to the date!

Posthumous Menagerie opens Jan. 4th with a reception from 6pm to 9pm. Brandt will be floating about the gallery, so be sure to say hello!

To the lucky dozen or so who secured a spot on the Paris Pack list on the Circus Posterus forum, boy are you in for a treat: Brandt Peters is throwing in a wayback playback with the return of his vintage postcard sketches, similar to his Komic Kards from a few years back. That’s right: sketches on vintage postcards that the gang picked up at the big Paris flea market while in town for Le Carnaval des Spectres. Can I get a hot damn?!

What’s even more exciting is that Brandt plans on having the real-deal Komic Kards as part of Posthumous Menagerie, his mini solo at Stranger Factory next month. So if you missed out on the Paris pack, another opportunity to score some sketch goodness awaits you in the new year!
