A year ago I flew into San Diego for my annual adventure in lines, more lines, and  fun, and now the San Diego Comic Con is upon us once again!

This year, Circus Posterus makes an extraordinary return to SDCC, with many thanks to the fine folks of Cardboard Spaceship, who are letting us takeover their booth (#5346) on Saturday, July 20th. On hand will be the amazing work of  Chris Ryniak, Brandt Peters, Amanda Louise Spayd, and Kathie Olivas.

In the weeks to come, we will have specifics on what the crew will have for all the fans but for now, we can tell you that there will be loads of customs, originals, new releases, a contest of sorts, and maybe even an exclusive or two. Don’t start lining up yet because we are working out all the specific times for shenanigans, but we will be sure to let you all know ASAP when we have it finalized.

Keep checking back to the blog for more info!

WANDERING MISFITS: ASH

  • by

AshWandering Misfits are surfacing all over the place it seems! This time around, we get the 3D render for Ash who we have all come to refer to as “Batboy“. It looks as if this defender of the night is taking a break from superhero stuff as he sits back and relaxes for a bit, still wearing his cowl. Ash is part of the Wandering Misfits mini series by Cardboard Spaceship Toys designed by our beloved  Kathie Olivas’ and Brandt Peters’, and sculpted by the talented Scott Wetterschneider of Shinbone Creative., Ash the Batboy will be gracing us very soon, so stay tuned!

“WHEEEEEEEE!” is what this little Skelve is enthusiastically screaming, and so are we! This Skelve is having the time of his defunct life on this pull cart as he slides along.

Here’s another 3D rendering of the Skelve Pull Cart, from the 2013 Blind Box Mini-series from Cardboard Spaceship Toys based on Kathie Olivas’ and Brandt Peters’ familiar characters: WANDERING MISFITS, and sculpted by the very talented Scott Wetterschneider of Shinbone Creative..

Another 3D rendering from the 2013 Blind Box Mini-series from Cardboard Spaceship Toys based on Kathie Olivas’ and Brandt Peters’ familiar characters: WANDERING MISFITS.  Sculpted by the uber talented Scott Wetterschneider of Shinbone Creative.

New 3D renderings from Wandering Misfits

Elizabeth in a bear suitIt is like Halloween in here, because the eye candy is coming non stop! Two more 3D renderings from the 2013 Blind Box Mini-series WANDERING MISFITS by Cardboard Spaceship Toys based on Kathie Olivas’ and Brandt Peters’ familiar characters have turned up! The sculpts by Scott Wetterschneider of Shinbone Creative are looking amazing!

Above we, have Elizabeth in a Bear Suit adorned in a bear hat, dunce cap, collar dress, and of course a lollipop. This piece most definitely screams in Kathie’s beloved style. Below, we have the cherished Boo Skelve in all its not-too scary-glory. We love the added rib cage on this fella.

More images will turn up soon as well as more news on the series!

Kuma 3D

You have seen the drawings! Now, get ready to have a look at the 3D modeling tests! Up first, is The Kuma Skelve from the 2013 Blind Box Mini-series WANDERING MISFITS by Cardboard Spaceship Toys based on Kathie Olivas’ and Brandt Peters’ familiar characters. Sculpt is by Scott Wetterschneider of Shinbone Creative.

The personality in this guy is starting to show from the slightly slanted bow tie to the traditional top hat. I wonder what character we will see next in Wandering Misfits?

It takes BOO to make a thing GLOW right!

  • by

BOO2Last week, we just dangled a spooky carrot, but we’re no longer playing hard to get –  here are a few more images of the Mini Glow in the Dark BOO SKELVE! These are the test pulls from Adam at Truecast Studios and sculpted by Scott Wetterschneider at Shinbone Creative. Both have done a stunning job! These resin beauties are just over 5 inches tall to go along with the sold out Mini Greeter that was released earlier this year, and a perfect older sibling to the Boo Skelve that will be in the Cardboard Spaceship x Circus Posterus mini series.

The array of colors are awesome, regardless of lighting, and the image below shows what these ghostly entities do when the lights are off. Now that we have seen two figures from the upcoming miniseries go a tad larger…what’s next?
