Now Available: FERG’s Jack s003 [Fort Burnout-DSRT] Squadt

  • by

Night vision goggles. It’s one of those choice accessories that work so well with a Squadt you wonder why it’s only now that they’re being added to the arsenal. No matter: FERG’s Jack s003 [Fort Burnout – DSRT] Squadt is packing a pretty sexy pair and the figure is now up for grabs from your favorite purveyors of toy goodness.

Tri-lens goggles aside, Jack comes with all the usual bells and whistles: modular tactical vest with assorted pouches, Fort Burnout shirt (hidden under there somewhere), bandana, sUMP w/red dot and suppressor, tanto knife with Velcro sheath, classic and 2.0 articulated arms, smoke and yellow lenses and a removable helmet. That’s a whole lotta kaboom for $95. Want one? Giddy up.

BP x FERG Trouble Boy No. 7 [Drifter]: A Brief History

  • by

Some interesting history about [Drifter] and the Yakuza from Shinji at Tomenosuke-syoten. Trouble Boy No. 7 is slated for release mid-June.

At the preparatory stage of the Trouble Boy #7 DRIFTER, I talked about the symbol accessories of the Yakuza with Brandt Peters. One of them was “tanto knife” that comes along with the Mac11. However, some of the ideas were finally omitted. One example was a badge which was drawn on the concept art of Brandt’s. I sent him a picture of real badges which is famous as a symbol of Japanese syndicates; however, I told him that our design should not be associated with the real one. Finally the idea was not adopted, so honestly I was a little bit relieved. It was just like ”Better safe than sorry.”
On the other hand, Brandt had a tattoo idea from the early stage. The special point of the Trouble Boy this time is the hidden tattoo covering the whole body under the clothes presented by so-called Brandt’s specialty touch. The above image is the first tattoo layout sent from Brandt on July 7, 2011.

Brandt Peters x FERG No. 7 [Drifter] Shipping End of May

  • by

The second flyer for Brandt Peters x FERG’s next Trouble Boy has been revealed which can only mean one thing: a release date! Tomenosuke’s toy wrangler, Shinji Nakako, has just announced that production on No. 7 [DRIFTER] is wrapping up around May 25th and will be shipping to Japan immediately after. So we’re looking at a mid-June exit.

… Be still, my trigger finger.

More details to come closer to the release date. In the meantime, enjoy the BP sketch that started it all, and a lovely snap of the sweet, cold hardware that No. 7 will be packing (the suppressor is removable!). Pew pew, mthrfckr!!!

Coming Soon to Tomenosuke: Brandt Peters x FERG Trouble Boy No.7 [Drifter]

  • by

In anticipation of the forthcoming release of the next Trouble Boy Squadt, FERG has revealed a slick new teaser of the only Squadt whose origins lie in the land of the rising sun: the Yakuza-inspired No. 7 [Drifter]. It’s also been confirmed that this installment of the barnburner collab between FERG and Brandt Peters is an exclusive to Tomenosuke-syoten.

Release info will be announced as soon as FERG nails down a date with Shinji … keep it locked!

A Sneak Peek at the ‘Fr0g’ Squadt

Finally, something to show you! There’s been plenty of teasing for the past while in the restricted area of the CAD forum of FERG’s upcoming scuba squadt,‘Fr0g’. As you can see, this guy comes decked out in a wet suit and flippers, and brandishes a razor-sharp knife and harpoon gun. If memory serves, his flippers are removable, but don’t quote me on that.

Now obviously the missing puzzle piece here is the helmet, which is an all-new sculpt. Public pictures have yet to hit the web, but FERG did tweet this photo last week of (what looks like) the package design, which gives a pretty good idea of what this little bastard looks like. Insanely cool! More details to come — Fr0g is queued up as the next exit so we shouldn’t have long to wait.

A First Look at Brandt Peters’ Trouble Boy No. 7 ‘The Drifter’

FERG & Brandt PetersTRIGGER exhibition unveiled a plethora of new toy goodness for us to anticipate in the coming months. To kick things off, we’ll start with Brandt’s newest Trouble Boy: No. 7 ‘The Drifter’.

Brandishing two boom sticks and a tanto knife, the black-clad, eye-patched Drifter is inspired by Japan’s Yakuza with the body tatt to prove it (bring on the striptease!). With that said … it probably comes of little surprise that this badass will be unleashed through Tomenosuke-Syoten sometime this year.

Pricing and edition size will be released closer to date of exit. Stay sharp!

TRIGGER: FERG and Brandt Break the Internet

Well that was a hell of an entrance, wasn’t it? Following last year’s award-winning Trouble Boys collaboration, FERG and Brandt Peters reunite for TRIGGER, a two person exhibition at Stranger Factory, which mercilessly melted fans’ faces on both sides of the spectrum.

And CP’s servers suffered a similar fate: as soon as the taskbar clocks flipped to 12pm, the Circus Posterus and Stranger Factory websites were hit with such an unprecedented surge of traffic that it put them out of commission for nearly three hours (in which time the show nearly sells out). Pages weren’t loading, emails were bouncing back, fans were collectively panicking and eating their hair. A netplosion befitting of artists of this caliber, which was only amplified by their collaborative tact. Just look at the pictures.

Cool exhibitions aside, another reason I’m loving Stranger Factory is because it allows Kathie and Brandt an opportunity to use their exhibitions as a means to reveal/release new editions. KO’s Sweet & Sorrow saw the release of the Purple Greeter, and now a whole whack of new editions have debuted at TRIGGER: FERG’s Playge Doctor Skelve, the Overcast Kuma, 4-Legged Masao, and Fire-Eyes Mega Skelve (yes! An editioned Mega Skelve!), as well as the release of the Indigo Fade Skelve and reveal of Brandt’s next Trouble Boy: No. 7 Drifter for Tomenosuke. When an exhibition offers 2- and 3-dimensional works, individual and collaborative customs, limited editions, and sneak peeks from established artists at affordable prices, you cannot go wrong. But be prepared to fight crowds large enough to crack the websphere ;)

Enjoy the full gallery of photos here. More info on the new editions is forthcoming!
