Last-Minute Eye Candy from KO & BP for Stranger Factory’s Holiday Hoedown

  • by

Circus Annual is already upon us and before the festivities get into full swing tonight, we figure we’d toss a few more gumdrops ’cause these pics are too sweet to pass up. Right off the top, we have gorgeousness from Brandt Peters, Kathie Olivas and DrilOne, with (from left): an Ooze Skull, custom Skelve, SD201 Red Star Drone and a custom Greeter Skelve that is guaranteed to spark an internet-wide riot.

And just in case those gorgeous Elizabeth handpaints from last week weren’t enough, Kathie will also have a 17″ Lizzie in the show. Yep. Anyone have a drool bucket? Hang it off my ears.

And this was the arrow through the heart for me: Brandt will have a small series of 6- and 8-inch wood pieces featuring a few of our favourite characters, new and old (wait till you see Slap-Happy!). But enough teasing: on to the preview! Many pieces still need to be added today and through the weekend, but there’s still a ton of goodness to ogle in the meantime. Allons-y!!

KO’s Phantom Lizzie & Calliope Jackalope Handpaint for AFA NYC 10.20

At long last: the full reveal of the long-legged lady Kathie’s been tormenting us with for weeks. Meet Phantom Lizzie: hand painted cast resin with oodles of hand-sculpted elements and a hella sexy pair of silver bat ears. Standing just under two-and-a-half feet, this gal is all legs and frankly, I can’t say I’d want it any other way.

And sittin’ on the dock of the bay beside Lizzie is a Calliope Jackalope handpaint: one of only a handful of small sculptures that will be on exhibition at AFA. Buckle up, folks: KO’s going big this year!

Haunted opens Oct. 20th at AFA NYC with an opening reception from 7pm to 9pm. Kathie will be attendance!

A Sneak Peek from Kathie Olivas for AFA NYC 10.20

Aside from the 20 or so paintings that will grace the walls of New York’s AFA Gallery, Kathie also plans to have a parade of mischievous and enchanting little ladies hanging about the floor, as well.

Giant encrusted Elizabeth heads, custom Lizzies, and a brand new edition (below) will make an appearance at the show, among many other friends. October can’t come fast enough.

‘I Brought Dessert’ by Amanda Spayd for Monsters & Misfits II

Ten inch legs. One and a half inch diameter eyes. Thirty inches tall. And in-freaking-sane. Amanda Louise Spayd appears to be the next queen of Lizzie customs. She made waves with her first Lizzie and Junior for Dragon*Con two years ago and we’ve all been waiting with baited breath for her to revisit the platform. Suffice to say,  ‘I Brought Dessert’ is a knockout and the Kusakabe Folk Museum has yet another breathtaking piece on its way to them for Monsters & Misfits II. Less than a month till opening night!
