joy

It is Friday! Hooray! We thought we would close out this week with a tad bit of “JOY” for everyone about to embark on their weekend. In one week, Bob Dob‘s RIDE opens at Stranger Factory. Here is a nice happy sketch for us all to enjoy, since the typical work week is done.

Bob Dob presents “Ride“ at Stranger Factory June 7th – 30th, with an opening reception on Friday, June 7th from 6 – 9 PM.

Art from Doktor A and Chet Zar’s Oddfellows, and Doubleparlour’s Pink Eye, have made it to our online store, so check it out and pick up a delightful creature for your home today!

If you live in the Albuquerque area, the show is still up and looks amazing, so stop by Stranger Factory to revel in the slightly twisted worlds of our exhibiting artists.

MushyYou asked, and we listened(as we always do, because we are awesome), and we have more images from Valency Genis’ “FAUNA” coming to Stranger Factory this June!

Valency has sculpted what seems to be a small nation of VERY expressive as-yet-to-be-named mushrooms. These fungi are all personality, and for the Albuquerque sun! I am starting to think the little guy on the left with the stiff lower lip is the alpha mushroom – all the rest follow behind him because he is all attitude.

Valency Genis’ “Fauna” opens June 7th at Stranger Factory with a reception from 6-9pm. Valency will also be teaching a workshop with Tim Lee on Sunday, June 7th!

We have kept a tight lid on this for a while now, but we can finally bust out some news for the new TERROR BOYS line from Brandt Peters and FERG with the release of Terror Boy “OOZE NO.00“!

The Terror Boys are based on 70s/80s “Splatterhouse” horror movies, and are a gang of terror causing hoodlums! You might remember the first gang from Brandt and FERG was called “The Trouble Boys”  based on a gang theme around “Hitmen Through the Ages”. So, you can expect more blood soaked terror miscreants soon! The question is, what classic themed fiends of horror business might appear in the Terror Boys?

Now, do you want the scoop?

Spirit-GuideTim Lee is at it again for his show “Done Gone.” This time, we see a full reveal of a piece he has for the show. This piece is titled “Spirit Guide,” and is painted on constructed wood panels. We love the pumpkin skull head atop another creature’s wooden antlers as it is guided through the forest. The earth tone colors are perfect for this woodsy feel piece on wood! Plus, look at the grin on that big fella!

We will have more from Tim and all the artists for the June show at Stranger Factory as it gets closer to the opening in two weeks, so stay tuned.

Tim Lee’s “Done Gone” opens June 7th at Stranger Factory with a reception from 6-9pm. Tim will be present. In addition, Tim will be teaching a workshop with Valency Genis on Sunday June 9th.

Sharp eyed folk may have noticed a tiny Bob Dob preview pop up on Craola’s Instagram feed(above; image credit: craola). It’s true, Bob Dob’s parade of odd people on odder playground equipment continues to grow, and we’re looking forward to seeing his work ride on into Stranger Factory next month!

Below, we have another one of Bob’s upcoming sketches, featuring a grumpy punk lady and something fluffy and beaked(maybe a gryphon?). Come visit us at Stranger Factory in June for a look at Bob’s menagerie of curious spring riders and sullen children.

Basic-food-groups

Today, we get to see another work in progress shot from Tim Lee for his show “Done Gone” at Stranger Factory this June. Another wood cut is taking shape, and it also looks like Tim is fueling his creative mind with the most basic of food groups (wheat). This fuel is most definitely working, so keep it up, Tim.

The work still isn’t finished yet, but the earth tones and colors work perfectly with the wood grain so far.  We are rapidly taking in the impressive work from Tim, because this show stands to be absolutely impressive, and we only have three more weeks to go!

sdcc-logo1The San Diego Comic Con is less than two months away, and it will be here faster than the Flash hyped up on 4 shots of espresso. The information will start pouring in fast and unexpected as we get closer to preview night, but we’ll keep you up to date on what some of our favorite artists will be up to at this grand ol’ convention.

Circus Posterus will be taking over the Cardboard Spaceship booth on Saturday, and you can bet your Superman tights they will have that booth filled with amazing goods! Up first, we know Chris Ryniak is hard at work in his lab creating perfect monsters, and so far we have seen a new herd of Crumbeaters being born. Still in the early stages, these Crumbeaters have a ways to go before they head out of Ohio to sunny California. We can tell you that each of these big eyed fellas will be different and there will be around 10 or so of them.

Hopefully you got tickets to the con! (If you did, see you there!)

CMRcrumbsSDCC happens in San Diego Thursday, July 18 through Sunday, July 21.
